Italianate Garden - Wrotham

Winner of ITV's - 'May the Best House Win'

Design Brief

Designing a garden for an interior designer was a chance for two design talents to combine to create a truly theatrical courtyard with real chic and elegance as this Italianate courtyard shows. The aim was to transform a dull outdoor space into one with a warm, continental feel, with cool blues and whites softening the old, established brickwork of the neighbouring property.

Before...

Lighting lifts the garden at night and although the space is small, the sound of water fills the air, whilst views can be appreciated from a number of different seating areas, from the raised circular paving, to the upper balcony, dependent on the time of day.

Attention to detail is the key element of small gardens and the interior designer's eye for period detailing gives the garden a sophisticated character.
