Tapestry Garden - Petts Wood

Design Brief

A much-loved but tired looking garden in Petts Wood was in need of a major rejuvenation. There were a number of key features worth keeping such as the mature trees and existing terrace but the garden felt as if it was split into two halves without clearly connected spaces.

The brief required that the garden be redesigned bearing in mind the parts which already worked and introducing new planting areas of different characters, combined with a means of enjoying the garden from many different angles.

  • Pathways converge on the long border

    With new planting, wonderful new pathways and a selective removal of unwanted trees to open up the views the garden took on a whole new lease of life. By weaving the new garden into the framework of the existing one, it is possible to have the best of both worlds, a mature structure with fresh, new, vibrant planting that explodes with colour through the year.
