Design Brief

New projects range from small, intimate courtyards to large estates and this project in Orpington, Kent really showcases the performance of a well crafted design.

Presented with the challenge of being on a hill, the new garden provides seating areas, play areas for the children and stunning views throughout, coupled with sumptuous planting which offers up a diverse range of colour right through the four seasons. An outdoor kitchen makes entertaining a breeze whilst the pavillion and hot tub ensure guests will want to return again and again. Bespoke features such as the glass balustrading and extensive low maintenance deck mean that no part of the garden is without the wow factor.

  • Overview

    The outdoor kitchen perfectly complements the paved terrace and pavillion, complete with a stunning water feature and modern, rendered walling. In the distance, the play area offers a world of fun for the children.

  • Modern Water Feature

    A modern water feature throws the cooling sound of water across the warm terrace.

  • Stainless Steel

    Stainless steel balustrading acts as discrete security fencing for family pets.

  • Low maintenance planting

    Low maintenance planting is key to such a large garden and expert planting knowledge means species are carefully selected for seasonal colour and performance.

  • Hot tub

    A hot tub, ideal for easing stress after a long day.

  • Balcony Terrace

    The balcony terrace, with stainless steel balustrading, safety glass and Millboard low maintenance decking, ideal for enjoying the view.

  • Outdoor Kitchen

    An outdoor kitchen sure to be the envy of guests and neighbours, with a Fire Magic collection, complemented by stone clad walls and natural stone paving, perfect for alfresco dining on hot summer days.

  • Shaft of Light

    The centre piece of the upper terrace, the mirrored stainless steel 'Shaft of Light' calmly reflects the surrounding colours of the planting.

  • Pathways

    Resin bonded pathways provide the perfect surface for all weather access, great for children's bikes and permeable so ideal for allowing rainwater runoff straight into the ground, helping the environment.

  • Deck

    Natural timber presents many ongoing maintenance challenges but with a Millboard deck, there is a hassle-free way of having your ideal deck. Slip-resistant, no need for preserving and available in a range of colours, this wood-free composite alternative is the perfect solution.

  • Sunken Trampoline

    Safety first with this sunken trampoline, complete with artificial grass surfacing, a great play area for the children in any weather.
